Stay Guardian by Engineer M8One package: smart access + privacy-first occupancy awareness
FAQs

Questions operators are likely to ask before rollout.

Clear, commercial answers for hosts, serviced accommodation operators and property managers.

Is Stay Guardian just a smart key box?

No. The key box is only one part of the package. Stay Guardian combines access control with the Sense Guardian occupancy layer and a central EM8 Hub, so the operator can understand whether the property appears occupied, vacant or ready for the next step.

What makes Sense Guardian important?

It adds the operational context that an access product cannot provide on its own. That means better arrival confirmation, vacancy confirmation, cleaner timing and possible overstay awareness.

Do I need indoor cameras?

No. Stay Guardian is intentionally positioned as a privacy-first solution. It is designed to provide useful property status information without relying on indoor cameras or microphones.

Where does the EM8 Hub go?

Typically in a sensible central location such as the living room or main hallway so the installation remains tidy and easy to replicate.

Who can have access codes?

Guest, cleaner, maintenance and management codes can all be handled separately, allowing different roles to have different time windows.

Can this work across multiple apartments?

Yes. The product is designed to suit both single-property operators and portfolios managed from one dashboard.

Can it highlight a possible overstay?

Yes. If checkout has passed but the property still appears occupied, Stay Guardian can flag that as an operational issue for review.

What type of properties is it aimed at?

Airbnb apartments, serviced accommodation, holiday lets, aparthotels and other short-term accommodation environments.
